Well, you're either a zoomie, or you've got some pre-occupation there B.O.H.I.C.A. Or is it both?

Actually more of a statement of my confidence in ALPA National and our MEC to look out for me, sad to say.

With all of their "toy" purchases, they will want to fly until 70 when they get to 65. After all that is what this is all about, wanting to make more money to enable spending more money. It's not about "age discrimination." If it were those guys would have been pushing for no age restriction at all, ie fly until you can no longer pass a physical and/or a checkride. I plan to be gone at 55, toys or not.

You know...........after walking through the MEM crew room on any given night and seeing the walking zombies, it does'nt take a great leap to imagine what the acuarial tables show. I'm thinking many of the folks who stand to benefit from the new legislation may have bitten off a very bitter bite.

I think, for all his posting, FH may have tainted how we view our senior guys. Let's remember that the VAST majority of the FDX crewforce was "opposed" to this. Remember, the "poll"? The discontent we see is across the spectrum. I will agree, though, the young, 2 to 5 year FDX F/O is probably more angry, relatively, than the 17 year employee. And rightfully so. You're right, it sucks, it sucks, it sucks. Now, where's the middle ground? Life is way to short to not try and make the best of it.

For me, I plan on emailing my block rep asap. I need to let him know I plan on holding the MEC's feet to the fire: no bid, no movement forward for ropes. That's what they said the CBA says, afterall.
