Our fate is not in our hands, it could be worse, you could be at a carrier that does not have a pension to lure guys to retire and guys stay to get five more years of 401K contributions and your airline does not fly international so you are totaly exposed to the US domestic slowdown/recession mess that is coming on the horizon, or some poor SOB walking the streets of Iraq for our honest and pure hearted leaders in Washington. It could be alot worse. So stop your belly aching and enjoy your job and be thankful for it and enjoy life.
Very, very good point but the situation still blows (for us "inexperienced" junior folk....LOL).

I doubt it....there will be WAY to many people watching what they do. The FRAUD implications are obvious. Going to jail is probably not a good way to spend retirement.....

I hope so.
The interesting thing is that my buddy just lost his medical recently and he was devastated. Well, when he went to the ALPA doctor, he was asked "Do you WANT us to try to get your medical back?" He thought it was pretty crazy and was like, "OF COURSE". This was a pretty interesting question though IMO.

I hope so.

I hope we won't be seeing another miracle along the lines of the virgin birth with all those NB's coming back. Yikes.
I agree that there still won't be any guys under 60 left on the panel. Sure, the under 63 747 FE's will have displacement rights to the front seat, but once you're in the -8 unless they start displacing from there you'd have to wait for a vacancy bid. The only vacancies I see opening up anytime soon is ANC CA, unless some of the guys are willing to be senior FO's (please NO)!
And of course let's hope that one can still retire at age 60 without penalties. Then hopefully people will bow out instead of staying till 65. Of course how many people who said they'd leave at 55 have actually left?
Anyway, I'm just glad to be on property here and am hoping there's enough 15 on / 13 off RSV lines up in ANC for all of us to commute to. How do you say sh!t sandwich in Chinese?
