Hired w/only turbo prop time

If it is a large turboprop like a C-130 or a P-3 pretty good. If not, not so good but possible.

"I had around 600+ jet SIC w/ trans-oceanic mixed in."
There's the key. UPS seems to hire from a wide variety of backgrounds. In the future, a few 135 tubroprop freight guys will probably get looked at. I know one I'm going to recommend and keep my fingers crossed.
At the same time, I'd imagine those who go the extra mile to get qualified would have the best shot. As long as ANC is a junior base, I'd think the overwater, big Boeing time, would look pretty good.

Your best bet is to get the 1000 PIC in a turboprop, then start looking at ACMI carriers to get that heavy/overwater time.
I got hired with only 1900 time, but I am extremely fortunate to have had some good connections to help get the interview. If FedEx didn't work out the first time I was going to try Kalitta for the INTL experience, then push on for UPS.
Don't worry about times. If you're a civvy you're going to have massively more time than your military brethren anyhow, even if they are flying around at 1000 miles an hour. I was the youngest guy (27) in my class of 23, but about mid-pack total time-wise. Ex-military guys are really good at briefing and de-briefing though.

The only ones I've met recently in that situation are the sons or daughters of current or retired FedEx pilots.

It is very possible to get hired with only turbo-prop time, like everyone has said though, it all comes down to your sponsor and your recommendations. You could have 1000 hours in the space shuttle, but without a sponsor and some good recs you're out of luck.
Keep networking! We need more civvy turbo-prop guys here!

Thank you everyone for the responses. With going to the regionals being all the rage...and looking at the upgrade times, I surmised doing the turbo-prop thing may get me where I would like to be alot quicker. I'll just have to see when the time comes.
With the passage of the age 65 legislation and just having turned 46 and just getting started, I'm hoping to enjoy a 12-15 yr career on the flight deck of one of the a/c for either FedEx or UPS. If not, I'm sure whatever capacity I fly in, I'll be successful.
Again, thanks for your responses.

I know several at FDX who flew nothing larger than the 1900.
