UPS Rumor

Actually, as part of the UPS conspiracy to get rid of the over 60 FEs before the law changes, UPS is starting a crash development program for the DC-8 along the same lines that FedEx took with the DC-10. UPS is going to start conversion of the first DC-8 into the MD-8 with a two person flight crew. I know that some Canadian DC-8s were delivered with two person crews but they were never certified in the US to be flown by only two crewmembers. This conversion will look similar to the MD-11 cockpit and will feature computer controlled actuators that pull on the cables in place of the engineer pulling on cables manually.

I heard a few months ago that they were looking at converted 777 freighters, not sure how many of them are around, however. I wouldn't be surprised at some 777Fs and more 747s. Already got the 767s coming. Go Boeing!

I heard TU-154M's that will be converted into freighters. They will also have winglets added to them too. Supposedly the new aircraft will be known as the TU-154MPF. Flight Safety Moscow will provide the sim training. Of course this is all rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ya know, Jabroni, I haven't been able to figure you out lately. Sometimes I wonder if your posts/questions/statements are legit. You throw out a post, then disappear. You don't participate in the discussion. What is your motivation?

I don't think he flies for Polar. His questions sound like they come from a 300 hour regional new hire.

To me, he sounds like this guy that used to be on FlightInfo. I can't remeber his screenname, but he used to ask the most stupid questions ever. It's like he never read any posts, but would ask the same questions over and over again. It became ridiculous.
But I agree with you, I don't think he works for Polar either...
