Oh, please someone make it true...
I would beg, borrow and plead to work at UPS instead of ABX.
Seriously, though I think DHL doesn't need any help going out of business. Freight loads are lower now at peak than we used to haul in february...

Why don't you volunteer to help out. When I go over, they are busy working on the myriad of contract violations, etc that occur daily. They have traveled several times to each domicile, meeting with chuckleheads like me working for fellow line pilots like you in the committees. etc. But, we are always looking for someone like you to help out.

i love these wild a$$ rumors that can't be verified by snopes.com. anyway, have any UPS folks heard this one?
Dear Fellow Members:
> >
> > UPS Management has approached the IPA to consider giving all DHL pilots priority preferential interviews for the expansion of the United States domiciles in order to affect the core business of DHL Worldwide in the United States. We all know the DHL has struggled in the United States for many years and the purchase and integration of Airborne Express has resulted in a struggling DHL.
> >
> > UPS feels that the current DHL pilot ACMI contract situation in the United States is a "Time Bomb" that can be easily used as a final blow to the smaller DHL market and that preferential hiring U.S. DHL pilots will enable UPS to eradicate DHL worldwide for the U.S markets.
> >
> > The IPA feels that we should all welcome our fellow pilots in light of this situation and show our unity because it will result in UPS's domination of the U.S market and the and of DHL as a competitor in the United States.
> >
> > We will have a Union meetings concerning these developments this week at the IPA conference center on 3607 Fern Valley Rd. from December 11th through December 14th at 1am to 3am and catering from Vesuvius be provided.
> >
> > We hope to see 100% of you out there and I will be available all week for any questions.

2. False. HR would not consider asking the IPA anything.
3. False. Not his writing style
4. False, common sense, "preferential hiring of U.S. DHL pilots (aren't they Astar?) will eradicate DHL worldwide for the U.S. markets" would not achieve anything except new pilots at the former.

UPSers know the domestic market is "Stagnant" or "saturated" and the company has shift assets internationally. While DHL struggles in the US, they are fully engaged in the race for China and the developing international markets...against UPS. While no-one really knows, I would doubt that the 10B UPS in borrowing has any link to the US domestic market.

Since you seem to be hellbent on slamming EB members why don't you ask our At Large Rep why she hasn't been at the office for most of the year and hiding behind an A/C change? She did have the ability to go non-current and fulfill her obligations to the membership but I guess it's easier to object to everything and offer nothing other than stirring up the membership with false allegations. True leadership....NOT! Also, ask her if she is cashing her EB salary check and what has she done to earn it???
