Default Question for FDX guys

Was in SGN last month and saw something that looked like a Lockheed Electra that has "FEDEX" on the tail. Just curious who the operator is and I guess it's coming from Subic?

It's a Convair and it belongs to Air Tahoma. FedEx charter.

If you are a a member of FI.com, there used to be some hilarious threads about Air Tahoma.

Haven't been there for awhile, don't know if they're still available.

Ok, so it wasn't an Electra. Sorry we taxied by real fast and I only had a quick glimpse.

Also, isn't there enough volume out of Vietnam these days to warrant a mainline flight into there?

Fedex is starting scheduled service out of SGN with an A310 early next year. Don't know the frequency.

The answer is most likely yes! Since CAN hasn't opened yet, it would be SFS, then when SFS flying shifts to CAN, it will be CAN.

And with the way Viet Nam is going it won't be long before it will be served by the MD-11, and then 2, and then it's own little mini-sort.
