Block 2 elections...
Who are the candidates running for block 2 BESIDES Mike Williams???
I just read his letter on JetFlyer and was not very impressed and quite frankly a little concerned when he states...
Given the information available at the time, I would again vote to accept this LOA, recognizing its deficiencies, and the need to improve the terms at the earliest opportunity.
If you needed more time to get ALL the facts and information concerning the FDA's then the MEC should have asked for an extension before the vote. Earliest opportunity??? How about BEFORE voting for a substandard LOA and NOT in 2010 plus 2+ years for the next contract.
And with regards to the MEC...
I do believe they have acted in what they all believe to be the best interest of the Fedex pilots
Really??? How would the MEC know the interest of the pilots if NO polling is done???
And then the final ringing endorsement...
Fraternally, Captain Bob Chimenti

Vic Liberti is running. He's a line MD-11 captain.
Mike Arcumuzzi, Bob Chimenti, and a host of other "experienced" ALPA bros have written letters of endorsement for Mike.
I voted for Vic. He's a damn yankee (a yankee that moved from Jersey to Florida) but I can live with that.... He's also committed to opening up some comm channels. Read some old JFs, you'll see his posts...

How do we get within 4 days of the election closing, and we still don't know who the candidates are?
I guess this trivial "job" stuff, just isn't that important.
I sadly predict another low turnout. And, then constant biatching about ALPA.

Abie,
By the way, I voted for you. In spite of your fixation on STVs.
The involuntary STVs would be a moot point, if they'd just fix the LOA. I think fixing the entire LOA should be our focus, as far as the FDAs go.

Voted for Vic and some dude named Hagan (sp?)... The first makes some awesome points in his campaign... Never heard of the second guy but heard he was one of the few STRAIGHT eagle drivers out there...
And it ain't like a ton of those Powder Blue wearers are straight, much less those F-15 targets...

And how about this gem?
"Again, the guiding principle must be an
attempt to achieve gains for all the pilots to the greatest extent
possible, and not to negotiate on behalf of individual pilots or small
subsets of the group."
Good grief, don't vote for this guy. He's part of the problem.
