Call your ACP and tell him you need to drop those days. I've done that several times in the past and it has worked. If he asks for a reason, make up a good one, or you may already have a good reason.

Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure I'd feel right calling and asking for Christmas off. I'd expect some good laughter on the other end of the phone.

I thought you said u needed the 16th and 17th off. You can't drop a trip or R day on the 24th and 25th anyway, soo yes, they would laugh at that request. If you need the 16th or 17th off, I don't see why they wouldn't do it.

I know a guy in the back of the Boeing who does this virtually every month --- his "second" job comes first, then he picks up stuff in "open time".

Most amazing part is he's a commuter!

I really wonder how long it can last.

Zman,

Take a look at our favorite ANC MEM early lateral transfer. I know that those days on the 21st 22 were moved from the 24 25. And the 26 thru 28 were dropped. That line was originally the same as mine.

I made some of the same requests, but was denied. I guess their request was earlier.

When I used to be on reserve and had a bud who bid VTOs we would often compare what he got compared to what some of the pilots junior to him got on their lines.

I hate to say it but chicks who were junior to him ended up with much better lines. Don't know if that is the issue now or in this case, and maybe its not the case, but it sure looked like they got the better deals.
