New ACP's

Yep.I actually had one of those and 10 minutes into it I stopped it and thanked him for playing. Found out info that made it a righteous bust. But, no,no one ever "suggested" any level of punishment to me.

Some years they were good($40K+) and some years they weren't more than 12-15
I know at the ACP/RCP level there were no retirement perks. I think that starts at the SCP level.

From Sep 02 thru May 05 there were, to my knowledge, 7 ACP's hired in Central Region. Of the 7, 4 came straight from the line, JS, JP, SM and RT. 3 came from training, DM, CS and SB. I think you can say the same thing about them as I do about civilian/military pilots. Some are the best I've ever met and some are the worst. I'll let you decipher who is who......

One of the best we had over there. Thanks for doing that job. I hated to see you leave, but I also like having you in your new job.

SB and FecAv8r,
Is the aluminum parachute a one time deployment, or is it possible at a later date to go back?
Seems to me that a healthy mix of a few years there, a few years on the line, and then in and out of some training/mgt positions would make for better results on all sides. Then again, I ain't been in your shoes, so I that is pure speculation. So my question is "is going back to the line is a one way door?"

Going back to into Mgmt depends on a few things. One, if you want to. I spent 5 years and Splash spent 2 or 3 years of 7 day a week, 24 hour a day issues. You get screwed on your vacation due to the fact that when you take a day off you take a day of vacation. No more turning 1 week into 3 weeks off. I never took a vacation where I didn't spend 2 0r 3 hours a day on the computer. My wife got used to doing a lot of sight seeing without me. If you don't go into the office on Christmas day you have to take a day of vacation, even though no other "non-pilot" manager has to do that.
Another factor is who you work for. I think that says enough for that reason.....
There are many other factors I would love to talk to over a beer or 6.
I really loved doing the job, I was just ready to go back to the line. I won't rule out the possibility of doing it again.
Hey Splash, good to hear from you.....
