I don't see it. There's what, about 60 more 747 front end guys to move around? Before the last realignment bid, there were almost 200 pilots in the lower 48 hired since 9/06.

FF
That would be great if we actually had management guys quitting left and right.

On another note, did y'all see the MRB on Military Leave? It kind of made me laugh...."try to schedule your mil leave on days off" LMAO! Uh, ok UPS, why don't you raise first year pay? LOL!

The last info I've seen that UPS published doesn't agree.

767's: 3 in 2009, 6 in 2010, 12 in 2011, and 6 in 2012.

The DC-8 will be retired beginning in 2010 and ending in 2013

Those 767 are coming in the FALL of 2009. I dont see hiring until summer 2009. With or without the age 60 thing. We are technically shrinking this year and next. We parked 15 or so 727. Parking approx. 12 747's. And some DC-8's. And Three man crews to two. Plus ANC and the IRO's. It going to be all Realignment bids, not Vacancy bids.

I hope I'm wrong.

How many JA calls do you get as a SO on the 8?

The MD's and the 747-4 for all intensive purposes are three man aircraft because an IRO is needed for most legs. The age 60+ guys can't perform IRO duties. Also with 60 or so retirements in 08 they are going to have to hire in 08...............at least I hope!
