Default Custom Lines

hey, need some assistance...
just finished Airbus IOE and got my custom line (yes, over Thanksgiving)...problem is it doesn't give me the same number of days off that my pay only line did (per CBA)...scheduler sez she only sees 15 days off, and the line shows 16 days off in the bidpack...who do I call?? ALPA got a person who deals with this?

Or do I just humbly accept and move on...since the company is always right...

Get in touch with your ACP asap. They should be able to help you.

Do not settle for less than your pay only line days off. If the day is free of duty from 0130-0129 it is a day off. Your IOE days count and so do any TRN days towards your max days of work. If your ACP can't help, call Contract Enforcement ASAP.

Re-count the days off in the bidpack. Weren't some of the lines showing an incorrect number for days off?

The days off were correct (i.e. 16) in the bidpack, and I was entitled to them (per 2cylinders post above)...so they fixed it in my favor. Didn't have to get ACP or ALPA involved, just a buncha e-mails to/from custom line scheduler

The little guys win one...but make no mistake...you don't call 'em on it, you eat it...

Good news, and you are correct about standing up for what is due under the CBA. I rarely think the Company does things like this intentionally but nonetheless we need to call them on it.

I have a friend who recently called in fatigued and he did not know that the Company was required to DH him to base, or he could buy a ticket and deviate to his home. The Company dropped him like a hot potato once he pulled the trigger (that is a whole other story BTW) bottom line is we need to know the contract better than they do.

And without places like APC, we would only be as smart as the last time we personally got took to the cleaners. (Yea, APC!! thanks for being here!!)

To bad contract enforcement can't be a little more pro-active-- they had a "So you want to deviate" doc some years ago that was very informative, Alas, I guess anything in that vein is now deemed "interpretive" in nature and therefore not kosher in the lawyers' eyes.

I have to add my thanks too. I can't read that da**ed jumble of words and figure out how they're going to try to take advantage of us and how we need to fight back. Yes, we can read the contract but unless we know how to utilize it in our favor it's moot. That's why I read this forum.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, on the road or at home!
