Watchout being booked in Coach over 11 hours Duty.
I am currently on a trip where the Captain and I are deadheading together from ICN to NRT, our duty day is 11:20, the Capt. was booked in Business Class, and when I got to the counter My reservation was in Economy so I used my Corporate CC to pay the difference between the fares luckily they gave me the difference in the price between his and my ticket. Now I have to battle with Scheduling over the Accepted fare on my schedule.

Went searching for the golden bullet reference-- looked in FCIFs, O-grams, Jack's missives, E-grams and finally found it in the SIG notes. So why wasn't it also published as a FCIF? Maybe if it costs the company more $$, it's supposed to be done on the QT.
Hopefully if you include the quote in the comments of your expense report, it will the same force as law in the eyes of the travel auditor.
Here' the quote from a the Oct SIG notes.
Business Class Soft Parameter for Same Duty Deadheads (July 2007 SIG Notes)
As a reminder, there is a new Soft Parameter to allow for an upgrade of service on certain same duty Asia deadheads. If the pairing meets the following parameters please ensure your tickets is issued in Business Class by Corporate Travel. If you have questions, please contact the SIG or Flight Management.
"When available, pilots will be place in Business Class on international same Duty Deadheads when (1) the duty period is 9+30 or greater AND (2) there is a 32 hour or less layover immediately following the duty period. This will apply to all Asia international duty periods."
The exception is that pilots will NOT be places in business class based on this rule to position into a layover that does not have any further revenue flights in the pairing.

Thanks for the Quote and Reference!
Same thing happened to me a some months back. And this month travel booked my 'same duty period deadhead' from SIN-HKG in business and then later in coach. Called and asked and they said 'yep, should be in business'.
