2008 PILOT ANNUAL BENEFITS ENROLLMENT
October 24 - November 12, 2007

This year’s Annual Benefits Enrollment period, held from October 24 to
November 12, 2007, provides you the opportunity to make your 2008
enrollment elections for Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, change your
Basic Life Insurance amount and elect to participate in the Flexible
Spending Accounts (Health Care Savings Account and/or Dependent Care
Reimbursement Account). Access the new and improved FedEx Benefits Online
Web Site at https://fedex.ehr.com to make your 2008 elections, find
information about your benefits and use tools to help you make your
coverage decisions.

From the main menu you can select the:
* EDUCATE module to download the 2008 Pilots Health Enrollment Guide,
the 2008 Pilots Flexible Spending Accounts Guide and the 2008 Life
Insurance Guide.
* EVALUATE module for decision support tools to help make your
decisions. With the Medical Cost Estimator, you can estimate your family's
annual out-of-pocket expenses based on your expected use of health care
services. Based on your estimated expenses, the Flexible Spending Account
Estimators will help you determine your appropriate contribution and
estimated tax benefits from participation in the HCSA/DCRA. The Life
Insurance Needs Analysis Tool will help you estimate how much life
insurance you need.
* ENROLL module to view your enrollment, dependent and your
beneficiary summaries and make your enrollment elections.

You must make your 2008 enrollment elections through FedEx Benefits Online
at https://fedex.ehr.com during the Annual Benefits Enrollment period.

2008 PLAN CHANGES
* Separate Medical, Dental and Vision Options – Currently, your
health plan option includes Medical, Dental and Vision coverage for you and
your covered dependents. For 2008, Medical, Dental and Vision options must
be elected separately.
* New Medical Plan Designs – The 2008 Medical plan options (other
than in Hawaii) will be different from the ones you have currently. For
that reason, it is very important that you make a Medical plan election for
2008. These new PPO plan designs, Base Plan and Buy Up Plan, will be
administered by Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem) and include medical,
prescription drug and mental health/substance abuse coverage. You should
carefully review the online Health Enrollment Guide to understand the
coverage changes that will become effective on January 1, 2008. You will
be defaulted to the Medical Base Plan if you do not make an election. If
you are currently in a Local HMO, you will be defaulted to that Local HMO,
if available based on your address listed in PRISM.
* New Dental Plan Designs – You will have a choice of 2 Dental plan
options for 2008, Dental Base Plan and Dental Buy Up Plan, both
administered by MetLife. You will be defaulted to the Dental Base Plan if
you do not make an election.
* Vision Coverage – You can elect full vision coverage for your
eligible dependents. You and your covered dependents will be defaulted to
Vision coverage if you do not make an election.
* New Coverage Tiers – There will be four coverage tiers for 2008
(Pilot Only, Pilot & Spouse, Pilot & Child(ren) or Pilot & Family). You
will be defaulted to the appropriate coverage tier for Medical, Dental and
Vision coverage based on the covered dependents you have listed at FedEx
Benefits Online.
* Basic Life Insurance – You can change your coverage amount.
Remember, you can only change your Basic Life amount during the Annual
Benefits Enrollment period. Proof of Insurability is required to increase
the coverage amount. See the online Life Insurance Guide.
I have some of the same concerns as you. It would be nice to look at the info before the 24th. If you have a long trip starting that day. You may not have the time to review it with your spouse. The company or ALPA should put a PDF file on the WEB, so you can look at before the 24th. You get no help when you call the ALPA office.

I went to the Anthem website hoping to read about this new plan. Until we get some official info from the company I'm unable to determine the plan I will have. On the Anthem website under Group Health there are several plans but I believe we will end up with one of the following:

Blue AccessSM PPO
Most network freedom. This is Anthem’s broadest network of providers. Can be offered as an Anthem ByDesign Buy Up plan. HSA options are also available.

Blue Preferred® Plus POS
Potential savings for employers, flexible provider choice for employees. Employees receive the highest level of benefits from network providers, but have the option to visit any provider for a greater share of the cost. Can be offered as an Anthem ByDesign Buy Up plan. HSA options are also available.

The FCIF mentions PPO so maybe we will get the Blue AccessSM PPO?

I believe it's the PPO. I went on there and found all the docs we use now, but it took a lot of research.

Talked to the BCBS/Anthem associate today and they said allergy shots were not covered in any of the plans. She said we could get the union and the company to add them before the effective date. So much for the new plan offering more coverage than Cigna, they were no charge under Cigna's plan. If this does not change and my family has to pay a copay just to get our shots my medical costs just went up $440.00 per month.
