Hiring question
Say these are your times...
Civilian
5300 TT
1500 PIC Turbine (750 turboprop, 750 RJ)
1750 RJ time
3 recommendations and a visit for the meet and greet with your sponsor.
Assuming you didn't completely make a you know what out of yourself in the meet and greet, what are the chances to get an interview at FedEx with those times? Whaddya all think? Thanks.

That's plenty of flight time and the meet and greet is a big plus. My question back to you would be: has the sponsor or any of the guys recommending this fellow actually flown with him (or her)? If not, I believe, the recommendations will carry less weight. As well, it's been my good fortune to have gotten 4 guys on board here, and I can tell you it's all about perseverance. Perseverance from the sponsor mostly. He needs to touch base with his ACP fairly often, each time bringing up his sponsored guys name. This has worked for me in all cases. Don't be a pain in the butt, but do be persistent. The above having been said, I truly don't know how the new hiring system will work, what with our new Chief Pilot, but I can say that life in general is less about knowledge and more about guts, timing, and persistence.
As a side note, having a good relationship with your ACP can pay dividends, in lots of ways, the sponsorship process being one of them.

Tough to say, that zero guy has yet to define how he's going to do hiring. Based on what JL did in the past, those times should be good and the convention you describe would normally work, but there's a new sheriff in town and, to the best of my knowledge, he has not put his stamp on the hiring process.
As a side note, I had heard from an ACP a few months ago that the process would change and there would be more emphasis on the sponsor.

Oh man, I am waiting as long as it takes but there's no guarantee either will call him. I figure FedEx would be slightly better since then all of our eggs won't be in one basket, know what I mean?
