Past..

I thought that too but it wont work. The 330 day test is just one of several tests. The company can claim it when they ship us off.

You guys are wacked! There will be no new hires to CDG. We have 408 S/O's in the 727 and over half of them are employee numbers in the 600000's. Lets see...continue to plug along in the back of a dying airplane with increasingly crappier lines or take a big pay raise and move to the right seat. Hold out for right seat w/b? Not when there aren't any bid slots (or very few) for it. Maybe hang out till they start excessing out of the 727? Then they can bid whatever there seniority will hold...which for most will be...drum roll.....
CDG or HKG. The only new hires that will go there are the ones that specifically want too.

Baron,
I've talked to many of the bottom 50 (I'm one of them) and have yet to find anyone who is bidding CDG or HKG F/O. It's just not worth it. I think they are going to have to hire into the right seat to fill those slots. If they do, I think they need to be given 2nd year pay as well.
I also know 3 guys in the pool, 2 probably won't take it if offered, and the other is the fence, even if that means they won't be offered another position.

Is anyone on here going to bid F/O in CDG or HKG???

Baron,

Only the bottom 90 or so will be on S/O pay. There was a class of 1 that went directly to the right seat. Everyone before will be getting passover pay unless you passed on the right seat for the back (actually know 2 or 3 guys who did that).

Exchange rate is 1 Euro for $1.41.....roughly 40% less and getting worse.

and

Cost of living in Paris vs Memphis hard to figure out....but, NY is a benchmark for cost of living surveys and Paris is roughly 78% of NY.....but, Memphis is roughly 35% of New York.....so, WAG, Paris is, best case, approx 40% more expensive to live in than Memphis.

NB FO yr 2 107.91 + Intl Override 7= 114.91
NB SO yr 2 71.81

FO Pay - 40%=68.95

Experience of living there, priceless.
Capability to save $$ for retirement, limited.

Only benefit I can see is the additional B fund $$.

In order to get passover over pay you'd have to had held 72 FO on a bid and someone junior to you went to trainning before you did. You won't actually get paid until that person finished trainning. You don't get passover pay if someone gets hired into the right seat and you could not have held 72 FO on a bid.

If I understand you correctly the excess bid in the 727 could equate to junior 727 SO getting either CDG or HKG or no job. I hadn't thought of that before. That doesn't sound like new hires will be filling the FO slots in either base. I guess the company understood the impact of the LOA to the crew force. I wish our MEC had done the same (wrong thread).

For those of you who went to one of those glorious used car sales meetings(the hub turn meeting), DW said SIBA was dead and on the way out the door. I wouldn't be too shocked to see the bus in CDG and HKG right away, and this siba bid to be the last.

As for the 75, I expect the left seat to senior for all of the single/empty nesters. The left, I think will be sporatic, but if anyone bids Memphis, I expect they do a paid vacation every 6 months until we start hiring again, then newhires to the right of the 75.

I think the Euro is going to dictate, that if people have any doubt about their financial situation, they won't bid it.

PS, I'm not looking forward to collecting the beer bets from the first STV I get.

There is the rub, it depends on what snow job you attended. He also said 75 CDG was all new flying with no impact on SIBA. Seems some people can talk with their lips and arse at the same time.
