I did not get to choose a base. Even Captains arent living where they want. Having a base is something you have to sacrifice. When your new at any airline, whether it is a major, legacy or regional, your there to build seniority and you probably won't get your base the first 1-2 years, unless your lucky. Everyone in my class, exception of 1 person, are working far from family and home and are here to log time and move on.

QOL? Without making me get off on my soup box, let me just say. Your not here for QOL, your here to log time, and make PIC quickly and log PIC ME Turbine (if thats what you want).

I don't know the payscale, but I know of a 4 year captain that is a floater that brings in $63,000. I've heard rumors a first year Captain makes $43K. Every year pilots make an end of year bonus, heard it can be around $3K. The company does this only if you fulfill your contract, its to control attrition.

Okay so when you say the first year captain made 43K is that with taxes and everything already out. If so, that's not bad?

I haven't interviewed with ACC, but I would go out on a limb and say wear a nice suit and tie.

Default Ten questions:

  1. What are the 3 most junior bases (Direct hire captain)?
  2. Is the schedule commutable?
  3. How many days off per month?
  4. Do you get any "Hard" or guaranteed days off?
  5. What is a typical day/week/month like?
  6. How are the hotels?
  7. How many hours per month do you fly?
  8. I have seen a lot of discrepancies in pay between sources...So what is the average first year take home pay for a captain?
  9. Is there anyone there that has left a regional Jet job to fly with ACC?
  10. How does vacation accrual work?

Any help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated...I would prefer to hear these questions answered by a line pilot rather than someone in HR! Thanks guys!

Nice suit and tie, all professional colors and no fuzzy cartoony tie. Try navy blue suit.
