bgmann, can you explain that a bit more? Is that $7500 like a "pay for training" type of thing, where you'd get reimbursed at the end? Or is that just the amount of pay you lose if you leave early?
The job I'm at now has a policy, where if you leave before the 8-month contract is up, you have to pay $2000 in "training expenses." I didn't have to pay for the training, I just don't get that money if I leave early. Is it similar to that?

Bgmann,
I don't have the option to PM yet, but can you please tell us a little more about this Iraq contract ACC has? Are there people willing to do it, or are they running very short on pilots? If your get hired on how likely is it you will get this contract right away?
Thanks.

Mitragorz: It is not pay for training. If you leave prior to a year you owe them 7500 for training costs. After a year you don't owe them anything.
Seven6: The Iraq contract has always had a good amount of people interested and they have never had a problem finding people for it. They have hired people specifically for it though. You will not be eligible for the Iraq flying until you are a captain with some decent time in the airplane. They were at one point going to let FO's go over but that went away.

Finished a class nearly a month ago and combined with DHL slow-down i think we're good right now. I'd still throw my stuff in as there is regular turnover but might slow to a trickle as the regionals have stopped hiring.

Good luck.
