Third year manager, hired same time I was told me the other day
he was making 200k plus stock and just checked out in the
left seat of the -400.
For what it's worth.

Everybody knows that the managers a paid very well. Some of them work for every penny too. Some...not so much! I would be worried if I were those guys.

Yes, once they are moved into the left seat, the salary goes up considerably. What I was referring to was the ones that are not hired straight into the left seat. It seemed not to take too long for those to get "upgraded" fairly quick.

Interesting, have never met one who was not hired straight into the left seat... My class had 6 and all were hired as captains...

In my tenure on the -8, I know of 2 recent hires that both were hired as DC8 FE managers. Now, in the fairness of full disclosure, it only took them a bit over 1 year to be promoted to CA. But, at the time, in talking to them, they were never told when they would upgrade. Both were fairly agitated at this. Now, when they did upgrade, their tones changed considerably.
