Vips Is Down . . .

Hey boys and girls . . . VIPS is currently down, it was down for most of the push last night, LOADS o' Fun, had to go old school, flight releases were distributed via the old metal file'n system . . . I hope VIPS is back up soon . . . consider yo self informed

Hopefully it's due to the new 'out-of-focus' expense reporting system and it will need to be scrapped so we can go back to the previous system. That's the rumor I'm starting!

Is it just me or does anyone else notice a coincidence at bidding time and VIPS going down (or in this case the whole system apparently)?

Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but this seems to happen a lot right around the time when we bid. Anyone have any light to shed on this? How about some redundancy built into the system? Maybe some more bandwidth?

I think this blows and then I'm sure we'll get some message about the VIPS outage and that the bid still opens as planned and closes as planned, but we all get just that much less time to do our bidding.

Frustrated...

Server down

Still down at 0910CDT. I don't think there's a conspiracy, there's a lot more important stuff on the server than just our site. But I do think the company is very slow with upgrades. They instituted the 3270 system (green screen) back in the mid '80s. It was cutting edge at the time and they have been patting themselves on their backs ever since.....and took a looooong time to come up with our web site. And as long as I'm waiting for the server....what's with our e-mail??? The people that designed that one were definitely doing bad drugs

Makes sense, I mean, that's when the system would be it's busiest. Thought they updated the server 6 months or so ago.

If we lose money becasue of this event..it'll be upgraded again.
