okbk,
Starting May 7th, next Week! DC10 SO was all that was left to choose from in that class. They told us we could wait until the next class, but for me you just never know when that extra "number" might be needed. ie. CA/FO. I am seat locked for a year. The bright side is I don't have to fly to get passed my initial P.C.. The down side is I have ABSOLUTLY NO IDEA WHAT AN F.E. DOES. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ETC.
Class size I think is 8 to 10 paired up. Not sure.
Thanks for the welcome, VERY happy to be here.

You'll have a good time on the panel. I rode the panel on the 727 a few years and it was fun and a good experience. We have a lot of good FE instructors. With our current and future growth you should be able to upgrade by the time your seat lock is up. Just enjoy the experience and have fun being flown around from bar to bar...shoot me an email at [email protected] I have a great computer based (powerpoint) program on the DC10 systems that I can send to you.

Has World been picking up many Gemini pilots? Was reading over on the other forum about Gemini, and things aren't looking to rosy over there.

I met a guy hired a few months back on the DC10 that was from Gemini. I think right now ATA and Aloha pilots are getting most of the interview spots.

Congrats TxAir! I'll be one of your class mates. I've been an FE for 24 years, so if you help me with the pilot stuff, I'll help you with the plumbing! okbk I would love a copy of your power point as well if you wouldn't mind. I don't know much about a DC-10. Just glad I wont have to remember pitchlock prop procedures!! See you in Hotlanta next week!

Congratulations, A new friend of mine is in your class too. You would do well to get paired up with him. He has a few Fe experiences he can share with you I'm sure. You won't have to fly to pass your PC, but I have a feeling you will be pretty busy anyway. But By the time you get to your PC, you will have seen everything and will be comfortable in the seat.
I just finished my IOE last week and I'm enjoying myself on the line.
See you in ATL.

Hey thanks guys! I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the advise. Really, Thanks!

I'll try to respond to the questions that have come up in the last few posts:
HIRING: My group was two RJ guys and the rest ATA. All were really good guys. I hope to see them all on the line. Good luck guys!

Interview: Its has all been posted before. RECAP; Three days, meet & greet, SIM/FTD B737-200, Panel interview. Just be yourself. If your there they want to hire you (SO DON'T MESS IT UP!). They are a great bunch of guys that are very honest about the job ie. pros and cons.

To the 24yr FE: I'LL BE LOOKING FOR YOU. I am a sponge (last name NOT square pants). I do need someone to settle my nerves. I Don't know anything about what an F.E.'s job is. Anything I can do to help others just ask me. I would not be here today if not for the massive amounts of help I've received over the years.

Thank again guys. I know I've made the right decision.

TxAir

You never forget! When you get jammed up in your new airplane and can't remember, just throw out a "Check me #4"! Oh yeah, that might not work either. Good luck my brother and have fun!

Push the power lever forward, increase TAS and altitude, break out the book......

Someone once taught me, you need "a source, a force and a course" sound advice that served me well.

Fly Safe, see you on the line
