Default NEW ALPA leadership

OK, what has your union done for you lately?? How is everyones schedule??? Are you enjoying those mid-pairing d/h's?? How's all those "special project" age 60 guys doing....hanging around so they can jump over you to get back into the seniority race once legislation is passed???? Can't wait to start living in PAR or HKG with the great LOA we have????

C'mon guys, enough is enough. I'm happy with the company, for the most part, but what has our union leadership done for us lately?? A lot of rhetoric that has simply done nothing but placate the company, and got us nothing.

RECALL your elected officials!! Let's get someone in there that is not going to allow status quo, or take what the company gives us at face value, as "acceptable"

BTW, everyone remember what Paul Cassel's job was about 8-9 years ago?? Don't suppose Webb or the others have similar plans, do you?

Go back and read LEC 26 recall in the threads. I don't think a recall will work because of the way the process works (my opinion and experience). I would be the last to say don't do it though. PM me if you want to discuss it.

I saw that at the last MEC meeting (#26), a recall was voted on (for the block rep), but it was never addressed to the block members prior to the meeting that this would be on the meeting schedule!!! Therefore, there were hardly any guys there to vote the knucklehead out!! Seemed pretty sneaky to me.

Actually, I received several e-mails prior to the meeting that addressed this issue. The e-mails were from the MEC and were sent to every LEC 26 member that ALPA has an e-mail address for.

Also, apparently the person(s) who instigated the recall motion weren't too successful in getting the word out to like-minded members, were they?

IMO, the problem is that most FDX ALPA members do not take the time to read the e-mails that they are sent. They are way too busy *****ing on APC or FI.

Here is a thread on this very subject that ran for two weeks before the meeting: http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/sh...ad.php?t=15376 . Doesn't look too sneaky to me.

You're absolutely right on all counts. And to answer your question, after spending an hour on the phone with the ALPA lawyers in Herndon, there is NO way for a member to contact others in your LEC through ALPA. He said "sorry, that's the way it is". The only way to contact LEC members is to boxstuff at the hub, e-mail on the company system, obtain phone numbers from VIPS and call directly, and face to face in the hub. All these are either on company property or use the company system (for union business which I bet the company would frown upon). Then there's webboards like this one and others. I think there should be an avenue within ALPA for union members to be able to directly communicate with other members about union business but at this time there's none and I would expect it to change.

YTBSM, right? I'm no DW fan but this is a cheap shot. Here's another one, the Grand Wizzard of the KKK plans on running for NAACP president!
