UPS Schedules: The Truth
#12
You've never heard a UPS guy complaing about the schedules he's flying? What are you new here or something?
* fly domestic 757 trips so that your friends can watch you age prematurely before thier eyes
*Fly the non commutable ANC trips without living there, the divorce attorneys in the lower 48 need the business.
* Enjoy the new domestic flying in the Z bid package. Des Moines is a very nice place
*3 weeks on, one week off without seniority. It's wondeful!

Yeah, what is up with all the domestic stuff on the Z??? I looked at your bid package a few days ago and I was wondering what the heck?

Yea, me too. I'm glad that I am senior enough to avoid it. I thought it might be nice to experience how the other half lives for 8 weeks or so, but those long nights with minimal rest strung between them are a bit much for this guy to handle. Won't even get into sleeping in the bacteria laden sort chairs for 3 or so hours each night or sitting in the ASC food simulator. I guess that sleeping on the ad hoc bed of the 767 as we wing across the ocean isn't so bad after all.

Forgot the one I have been hearing from airbus guys lately:
* wait, what happened to the sunday start week on week off with commercial tickets from my home lines that I was promised in this contract?

Aaaah, the old petri dish. The smell in there is something I will never forget.

I guess it is all a mater of perspective, I'd gladly do those non commutable ANC lines(I'd just move to ANC). Granted my perspective being a regional puke is some what dis-colored, the worst I have seen and heard coming from Brown or Purple pilots is a venerable Shangra-la in comparison to our version of aviation bliss! I'd take it gladly!

Darn it, I never learn do I? Yeah, we are all on Bus out of MIA or somethin'
Here's my suggestion: Every time someone posts a question regarding what flying for UPS (or Fedex) is like, it should automatically default into 2 separate threads.
This way a pax guy/gal who really hates what he/she is doing but wants an excuse not to apply to brown or purple could click on half-empty answers and read about all the misery we are experiencing.
On the other hand, if someone’s hating life wherever they are and wants to read something that shows things will eventually get better - he/she could click on half-full answers.
Of course, if they want the whole truth - they will immediately apply to GoJets.
FD - can you arrange that too?

Half-empty answers ................................................ Half-full answers
