ScumSeeker,
Sounds like you need to understand that not everyone who happens to be flying a disputed pairing got it by requesting it. I thought that we've all agreed that if one is assigned a disputed pairing, while on reserve, that's ok, because that's the way the system is supposed to work. However, "picking up" a DP any other way, is not. With that in mind, just passing judgment on a list of guys flying DP's not only does a disservice to the entire crew force, but at the same time shields the real culprits, who know our guidelines, but continue to disregard them. I guess I'm saying that one shouldn't jump to conclusions based on a list of intermixed DP fliers, given the fact that we really don't know whose who on that list, nor their status in flying a given DP.
If in the future, if you have a burning desire to highlight the names of these guys flying, by their own request, disputed pairings, why not do some research into the individual line circumstances, before reporting and inflaming it here.

When we track the pairings, it is done taking several snapshots throughout the month (about once a week). We see people trade in and out of these DP's. I'm sure some folks trade into them and then subsequently trade out again, never coming up on our radar. The people who track them are volunteers who do so on their free time and don get compensated in any way.
The initial snapshot is taken after VTO's are complete, but before open time is released. It is my understanding that the folks that are listed on the DP's have "requested" these pairings be put on their VTO line.
I have spent much of my career on RSV and I have been assigned DP's, some of which had, in my opinion, safety issues with respect to fatigue. If the person who created the list includes everyone without regard to their status (i.e RSV, VLT, DRF, SOF, etc.) then that sucks. In addition, it presents a strong argument to not post a list. A guy looks guilty to several thousand of his peers until he can clear his name.
If you are assigned a DP on RSV, fly it and give the Union feedback regarding the DP. Also, ask your fellow crewmember how he or she was assigned the trip. If they are not on RSV, then explain to them the issue at hand from management's perspective (i.e. if the pairing is onerous, then why are so many of our pilots requesting/accepting it?) How can the Union effective argue that point? It is common courtesy to give these folks the benefit of the doubt until you know the situation. Certainly if the answer is (and this is in fact what one F/O told me years ago) "well it had a DH on the front end and I'm a commuter so I picked it up, then take a some time to educate that person.
