I was just trying to "keep it simple," but thanks for clarifying Pup.

I met an ONT F/O yesterday who is bidding 39 out of 139 and has been here 7 years.

ANYONE can bid ANYTHING they want ...

Just doesn't mean you will get it ...

So you're telling me the SNAPSHOT tool is basically useless if you are in the BOTTOM 1/1000th of the list ...

I think it's very useful. I just wait until a couple of hours before 0700 Wednesday, and I have a good idea what scraps are leftover. By that time, most guys senior to me have already picked their poison, and I have a more realistic picture of what is left. I only have to sort through 30 lines instead of 100+ lines, while deluding myself that some senior guy forgot to bid that Shanghai trip.

I'm 109 of 139, so it really doesn't do me any good to "hurry up" and put my bids in the system. If I were senior, I would more than likely bid earlier because I would have a much better chance of getting exactly what I want.

There's a senior captain in ONT who's known to change his bid at 0300 the day it closes. Very nice.

Why would someone senior do that? Doesn't make any sense, unless someone senior to him snatched his line up from under his nose, in which case the domino effect goes into action to those below him that thought they had their line locked up.....or maybe he's just a sadistic SOB?
