Default Wow..Did I make a Mistake

Hey all,

Do not do what I just did! I was looking forward to applying to UPS and filled out the first information page and I answered "no " to not having a FE written.( Mine had expired)I knew it was a qual but I just figured I would retake in the near future..and after submitting, it would not allow me to add my resume or fill out an application.. So thinking I just need to take the test again, I went a selcted yes on the FE Written and it still would not allow me to continue... Iam so bummed!

So does anyone know if thats it? No chance of getting an app?

The first few questions qualify you to fill out the application. If you don't 'meet' the mins with your answers, it will not allow you to fill out the rest of the application. You also need the date of completion for the FE written to submit the application.

Try closing the browser first, then re-open and go to tools, internet options, delete browser history. It might slove your problem.

And click on 'delete cookies.' Also, delete your temporary internet files.

Its been about 7+ years since I took the FE written, I have been flying 121 and 125 for some time now. Is the FE written still current due to my past experience?

Usually it stays current as long as your in the 121 environment, but if you left 121 for a 125 operation, I'm not sure if that counts. Would have to do some heavy reading for that.

If in doubt, retake it. This is too valuable of a career decision to try and be cheap and avoid the $90 to retake the test.

Default Big Mistake

Have everything ready before you fill out the online app. Once it decides that you aren't qualified, you could be locked out for a year. Hope that I am wrong, but others have made the same mistake and have been locked out.

FWIW ... FAA Technically speaking, I think yours is still current. I have found the reference in the past with a google search.

I was in a similar situation when UPS called for my interview. The application was online, but it has changed considerably since then. The point of this is that when they called to schedule, I was asked about the "currency" on my FE written. Sinc it was over two years since the last time I took it, the HR rep asked me to call back with current results to schedule an interview.

This was on a Wed/Thurs, by Mon morning I had current test results and scheduled an interview within 2 weeks.

GET IT DONE ! I used the GLEIM software over a weekend ... excellent results.

Later, Brown CC
