I was never asked about the date of my FEX during my battle with the on line app.

Like others have said, according to the FAA it might be OK to them, but UPS wants one within two years. I was in the same situation when I was called for the UPS interview last fall. The guy asked if it was current and I explained it all - he said, "we'd like you to bring a FE written taken in the last two years to the interview."

I was told exactly the same thing and had a "fresh" FE written for my interview. However, recently I read on the "other" forum (I think?) where BT told an applicant that as long as he'd been flying for a part 121 airline he was ok. So who knows what "current" really means to them?

I think there is a simple solution to all of this.
If you don't have an FE written in the last two years, for Pete's sake, go retake it. I mean, how bad do you want a multi million dollar job? I took the dang thing three times.

True Dat!
I know two guys from my reserve unit that had this same FEX dilemma when the window opened earlier in March...neither had a current FEX, but one put "YES" on the app and another put "NO". The one who put "YES" was active from the word go, and after he got the call for an interview he scrambled to get the FEX complete. Then got hired. The other guy who said "NO" has his app "on file" and is most likely locked out of an update until next year!
Hmm, what should YOU do if you want on with UPS?
