If it contains an FDA (as they say it will) then it will be open for 45 days.

Usually, training can start within a week or two of the bid coming out. However, with the excess bid it may be delayed until these guys go through training. Not sure how FEDEX is going to meld the two bids together with training. If the past is any indication then all the training from one bid should be complete before training from the next bid starts. BUT- guys who bid on the excess will be able to bid in the MOAB, so I'm not sure how their going to integrate these two bids.

Normy,

Yes, cubic inches do rule but I'm partial to the air-cooled flat-six myself.

Anybody hear any truth to the rumor that it is going to be a three year training cycle? That seems kindof long and a lot can change in three years?

One possibility is that FedEx is trying to wait until the Age 60 rules change, or at least wait so that the rule changes during the 45 days that the bid is open. That way all those over 60 guys can bid back up front quicker. Do you think any of those over 60 guys like JL have any clout in the MOAB timing? I'm hoping the MOAB is for three plus years and closes the day before the rule change with no cleanup bids, but I'm only in a majority when there isn't a vote.

The Standing bids are closed.

I went in to review my standing bid and vips stated the above.

Could this be sign?

could be, but most likely they are closed as a result of the DC10 Excess Bid being closed and they are now working on the training letters.

2cylinderdriver is right...I think they always close right after a bid while they make the training letter.
