Thanks JJ for the story. Speedy recovery to you. My mom died last year from heart disease. My dad has had stints put in. I consider myself to be in good condition too. Guess I need to keep extra vigilant from now on.

Moral of your story? Alway have a doctor around when you're excercising.

JJ, thanks for the great story and Godspeed on your recovery. Perspective is an amazing and wonderful tool to help one live a happy life. It's a shame it takes hearing a story like yours for many too realize that. I can't help but think if you had a few more years of FedEx Scooby Snacks your story would have had another ending though!! All those preservatives could have kept your heart's expiration date good for at least an additional 5 years! Anyway, enjoy your life and keep us informed. Now, go get that pension you so richly deserve while we still have it!! Seriously though, glad to hear you are OK..

My father was 62 and had a similar thing happen in the middle of a tennis match...only he never recovered. His personal stats sound almost exactly like yours.

You're incredibly lucky, but I'm sure you already know that. Good luck and health and a long future.

JJ, glad your ok! Very scary indeed. We never know when our time may be; we all, both young and old, have to be ready to go, whenever that may be.
