Default Crash pad car info

My home state will allow me to re-register my car without doing the required smog check, if the location where it is at doesn't require it.

1. Does Memphis require a smog check?
2. Does Mississippi require a smog check?

I just need to list the location were it is at as not requiring it, and can use either a TN or MS address.

Thanks in advance.

Memphis city limits require it. The county, ie Germantown, Collierville do not. I do not know about Ms.

In MS, an inspection sticker cost $5, available at only at a select few auto repair shops. Some grease monkey comes out & checks your head lights (bright & dim), tail lights, brake lights, & turn signals. Also, he makes sure there are no cracks in the windshield in the driver's field of view. Thats it. The car tag is where the state makes you pay. The tag is based on the value of the automobile. You can call 662-342-6411 to get the exact amount.

In Memphis, some grease monkey comes out and checks your radio antenna, to make sure your radio is working, your cigarette lighter receptacle to make sure you'll have electricity to power your cell phone, your rear view mirror to make sure you'll have some way to put on your make-up (while driving and speaking on your cell phone while listening to the radio), and of course your electric windows, to make sure that you don't create a hazard by opening a door in order to pick up your take out food from McDonald's, Burger King, or Corky's. And oh yeah, if you drive a pickup truck, they check your gun rack. If your pickup either doesn't have a gun rack, or it fails the 3 rifle/shotgun check, they impound your vehicle, because it's against the law to have a pickup in Memphis without a serviceable gun rack.

NO, but Memphis requires a "rims and shoes" check. That is, you have to be rollin' on at least 22's a.k.a. "dubs" and they must be low pro's.

It will help greatly if you have a 1500watt sound system playing the latest Ludacris, or any other "dirty south" ballads.

In MEM, you can just print a fake temp tag and put it in your back window. Do this every month. The Bigger POS the better. You'll never get pulled over.

Now if your driving something nice.. You'll have a nice big target on your back.
