To those of you who vote YES on this fecal matter they call an LOA, here's something which should give you reason to consider changing your vote:
If this P.O.S. passes, the vast majority of the SFS pilots will come back to the U.S. That's 71 pilots, most of them quite senior, who will come push you down the seniority list in your seat/domicile. Still think you can vote YES on the LOA and who cares, you'll never bid it and it won't affect you?
Think about it ... 71 ... probably enough to bounce a number of you out of your SIBA bid ... or bounce you out of those lines with weekends off ... or bounce you out of your day turns where you're home every night ... or bounce you out of your double-DH trips ... you get the picture. The best thing you can do for yourself if you like the status quo is vote the LOA down and insist on a package that keeps the overseas-based pilots willing to stay there. Otherwise, we'll come back and cherry-pick the bid packs, and for a number of you, your quality of life will go all to hell.
But what the heck ... the LOA isn't going to affect you anyway ... is it?

Interesting perspective. What would you say to the guy who told you that, if the LOA passes, many more senior guys (presumably MEM based) will bid it, thereby, pushing him UP the seniority list in seat/domicile?

LMAO, god you kill me! However, let's pretend this was a serious question and you aren't as cute as you think you are. Why would one worry about a bunch of SFS guys coming back, when they would be replaced by equally senior guys going over? That is of course, if the LOA passes and there is some $$, however small, to entice them to do that.

So if it fails the Majority of the SFS folks all going to BID HKG anyway with $2700 less in their pockets?
If you want to vote NO vote NO, but your logic seems a tad skewed.

The FDAs will go junior allowing back door movement to the left seat. Subliminal reference to LOA intentional.

What? Did you poll all the "senior" captains? How do you know these things? Ohhhh. It's your opinion that equally senior guys would go over. What are you basing that opinion on? The Coriolis Effect?
I am a fairly senior captain(35% on MEM A300). I do want to bid an FDA. I won't go under the current LOA. That much I do know. I don't really care who goes, with or without the LOA. That's their choice.
I am curious, though...Has anyone actually heard someone say they want to go to HKG under this LOA? I haven't. I've heard plenty of people say they wanted to go to CDG. But, only one said he would, with a capt. upgrade, under this LOA.

How can anyone know what they will bid until the dust settles? I voted on the LOA based upon its merits (or lack thereof, actually).
I'll bid based on what my options are when the bid comes out.
Prezbear actually said this to me: "I'll promise to vote against the LOA if you promise not to bid Hong Kong." I can't see how that fits into his head-scratcher of an assertion that we should vote it in and then not bid it, but then again, nothing he says makes much sense these days. I'll bid based on the merits of all options open to me in a posting. But first things first...get out and vote!

Something we can agree upon. Seriously, we need to vote on this thing based on its merits alone. Not based idle threats from Jack-O (think Bennifer, Tomkat or Brangelina) or what you think so-and-so will bid, etc.

I was actually replying to Herky Bird. Well according to Her (I think) ALL SFS will bid MEM if the LOA passes!
I sure hope so since the SFS folks have been the catalyst against the LOA.
And if it doesn't , are we to believe that they ALL will stay bid HKG? without the LOA housing provision?( lacking as it is is.)
STV is the only reason I can see to vote NO. Everything else in the LOA is more than you currently get (or probably will get).
11 days to go and we will know. JL said in his email that nothing else iis forthcoming in the way of addtional offers. Having watched how this company does business with the pilots for the past 15 years, I agree that no addtional money is coming.
The company would lose too much face if they coughed up more, but that is just my opinion. We will see who is on target within the next couple months.
I hope that I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
