Default 3-4 day trips at UPS or FedEx?

can a guy work for a cargo carrier and pull a monthly schedule working 3-4 day trips? or are most of the lines 5-7+ days? thanks, just curious.

short answer - yes. at fedex, we have out and backs all the way up to 2 weeks on the road, your choice. you would have to live in domicile unless you wanted to commute all the time.

Short answer=yes for UPS. Many 4 days/week, 3 weeks in a row. Week off. Repeat.

Biggest problem is getting interview/hired, then you can try to work schedule. I can't seem to get the interviews at either.

We have turn line at UPS that might fit that category, but for the most part, Domestic is week on, week off... Intl is for the most part, two weeks on, maybe a little more...

Actually, on the 727, those kinds of lines go pretty junior, as all the commuter type lines go to the senior folks. Lots of 3 on, 3 off, 2 on type flying down here near the bottom. Of course, reserve is even more junior, so you can't be on the very bottom. You have to be 70-60% up the seniority list of your particular seat to regularly hold a line.

3 on - 4 off each week this bid. 0300 Show, 0400 Departure - return around 0900. 2.5 hours block, 6.0 hours pay....not a bad gig if you can get it.

Should clarify: (Longer answer) That is for the A300. Out of about 135 hard lines, there are about 21 lines that go either 3 days a week (Tue Wed Thurs) turns every week and then lines that do 4 days a week 3 weeks in a row then a week off. Some are am, some pm turns. Domestic 75's have some as well, but not sure of the numbers. DC-8 have no turns. Week on-Week off is the majority of hard lines laying over out of domicile. I know some single dads that bid these turn lines as very senior F/O's who bypassed CPT eons ago. So, seniority is key.
