What's up is Amazon will churn those airplanes around to whipsaw ACMI carriers just like DHL does. If you happen to be where they end up, you might get a quick upgrade. If you wait until you know everybody else will already be ahead of you. ABX is probably a better place to be stuck for a while than 21.

yeah, i'm at ABX. everybody here in upper management says we're getting the second 10 if "we perform," that it's "ours to lose".

read someone say 21 air was getting a piece of it recently, so that confused me, but wouldn't surprise me considering the whipsaw.

hoping it goes to ABX for my seniority lol

The deal with ATSG is for 10 with an option for 10, and details in our contract extension hint very strongly that we will have an answer on the option by the end of April. I would be suprised if Amazon decided to place the other 10 (7, really, unless they're going to pull 2 from ATI) before the first 10 are even on line at ABX, less than 6 months into the deal.

Everyone debating this assumes the options for 10 are the Titan planes. The Amazon network is going to continue to grow, 21air can get a crack at the business with the remaining titan plane *and* ABX can get 10 new planes (ATSG has unused planes sitting around ILN and who knows if the Hawaiian deal is going to continue after the merger). We'll know when it happens, and not a day sooner lol

Angry Stay as far away as you can

You have no idea the horrors that await you at 21Air. It IS the bottom feeder of all bottom feeders. Clapped out rust buckets from Sanford and Son. Go to the webitse and scroll down to "Meet Our Leaders". MM will want to fire you everyday if you even say the word Maintenance. Capt DNR will make you want to quit day one of training. He is hostile, overbearing, rude and weak. The turnover is 100% because it's so bad. Anything Miami has cockroaches crawling out of it. AND if you have not spent any quality time on an old 767 freighter in the middle of the night going to South America, no rest area, 3 crew, get ready to be so fatigued you won't believe it. CVG you say, the slop you'll have to eat would kill a Moose! Of course if you're lucky enough to get a bunk you can listen to the Kalitta guys yammer in the middle of the night right out side your room.

There is nothing good in anyones life going anywhere near 21Air.

It hurts when a better airline takes your best pilots doesn't it?

Almost every pilot that left ABX for 21Air was asked to resign because of how poorly they did in training. The only person I'm aware of that wasn't asked to resign was a prospective CA that got mad after he failed his ETOPS check and left out of spite.

Sounds like a serious training department issue.

Can't speak to that. The only thing I can confirm is that almost all the guys who left ABX for 21Air did so because ABX asked them to resign during training.
