Default UPS Sim Prep

I was wondering who does the best sim prep for UPS, and if anyone want to share a 2 hour prep time in next two weeks.

Adam Hughes in CVG is awesome. (513) 604-3906. I know a couple of guys in my new hire class that went to him. WELL worth it.

Default Adam

Adam is the best. Two sim preps for two different jobs and successful with both interviews. It is well worth the money. Good luck with the interview!

I've had the opportunity to use both of those guys for prep. Both are solid teachers. I'd break it down to your own personal schedule and which one could fit you in or was more convenient...Emerald and AJ were definitely more polished and outwardly professional. Adam is like your neighborhood mechanic, gets the job done and reliable but loses style points in the presentation. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I used Microsoft FS 2004. It's what one of the check airman told me to do.

"You don't know what the H*ll your going to fly so why waste the money."

I'm sure the people listed are worth it though and at least you may not look like a monkey attempting carnal knowledge with a football.

I interviewed right before Thanksgiving 2006, and I drew the 767 fixed base simulator. I interviewed in Feb 1995 and back then I had to fly the 727.

My point is you won't know which jet to prepare for, but the scenario should be the same. I looked on pprune/will fly for food for the scenario.

About 30 minutes before you fly the sim, you will get a binder with basic instructions that are airplane-specific to the sim you will be flying.

In my opinion, the interviewer is looking for a couple things: Does your flying ability match your resume ? How are your basic airman skills ? Do you fly the airplane as a crew utilizing all available resources or do you fly the airplane by yourself and keep the interviewer out of the loop ? Do you have some form of standards and procedures and/or callouts; i.e. "localizer's alive", 5000' for 6000', and so on.

The sim flight will be very laid back, the instructor will put you at ease and will explain every manuever in detail prior to it's commencement.

A few points to remember: The interviewer is there to help you and is a resource, 250 knots below 10,000', the simulator is pitch sensitive so don't chase, and finally relax this is the easy part of the interview.

Finally, I did my prep using FS2002 and was lucky enough to get the 757/767 which I had some experience in prior to UPS. In addition, if you can get a hold of approach plates for Louisville that may be helpful.

Good Luck

FF

My UPS prep was in the A300, sim in the 767. It really didn't matter. I truly believe they wanted to see if you were trainable...the sim eval was almost instructional. Hints or words of wisdom were given and they(he) wanted to see if you took it in, adapted and improved. If you have been a Capt or AC and are worth a damn, you should be able to get past the sim. Know Jepp plates and basic FAR's and you'll be fine. Flifast covered the rest.
