On a different note, remember when DW said during the contract negotiations that we didn't want to B scale the new guys ( guys not yet hired actually)? Wouldn't accepting a crappy move package do just that? - if you buy into the fact that most wouldn't bid HKG FO.
Do you not think some Junior SFS FO won't bid HKG?......or JR ANC FO's......or even JR 727 2nd O's for that matter. That doesn't sound like a B scale to me?

Maybe I am just thin skinned today, but I am a little insulted.
First, you throw stuff out there about HKG being the best flying. I say it is just an opinion.

Then you throw read your contract crap at me. Thanks. Maybe you are just really into this topic -- just really interested in making the point that the company can open the FDA with no new LOA. OK. You have posted that several times. I did not say I would vote for or against anything. I haven't even seen it. It is just a rumor.

Please read my post. I said IF YOU BUY INTO THE FACT THAT MOST WOULD NOT BID HKG FO. Does that sound like I said most wouldn't? Others have posted that people wouldn't go and that they would send new hires there to fill the base?

So I guess I will reword the question to -- If we accept a crappy move package or keep a crappy move package, wouldn't that B scale the HKG new hires to a certain degree?

Fdxflyer: Sorry but I think you might be a little thin Skinned. No insult was intended. I qouted your post because it was the last one........relax

My only point is........the current contract already has an FDA package that the company can implement without ALPA's agreement in an LOA.

If we can get something "more" than what we currently have, is that a bad thing?

What if it was $100/month more? Would you vote for it? I wouldn't.

I'm not sure what the magic number would be, for me to vote for it. But, based on what I've read, $2700/month is certainly not going to cut it.

But The number isn't $100 dollars a month, at least that is not what all the rumors say. I'll wait until I see it before I make up my mind.

I don't know what the magic # is either and there are other issues that I would like to see addressed.
Tax Issues
Actual Move Weights
Medical
Relocation Assistance......just to name a few

OK, What if the pending LOA doesn't pass? What if the company posts a standing bid for HKG and CDG anyway, with the current FDA language ?
Will that Rumored $2700month seem all that awful.

Then I can't wait to hear the Union bashers complain how ALPA screwed them because they got nothing....Bottom line is that the membership will get to vote on it and democracy or the Majority will prevail.

I guess if nobody bids it, I would agree with you. But Just like nobody is flying disputed pairings...........I don't have a strong feeling that Vacancies wobn't get filled.

Boy am I glad you qualified that.

Perhaps we'll just have a survey and the MEC will decide what a decent LOA package would be.

If the LOA gets voted down, it will only be because it wasn't good enough for the majority of our members. If the company puts out a bid anyway? Yah, I'm sure there are some that will bid it. There are also guys that drool over flying the left seat of an A319 for $65,000/yr. I would turn a deaf ear to either of their complaints. No one is forcing them to bid it.

I'm tired of being told to vote for things just because it's better than what we have. The next thing I vote for, will only be if I think it's right!!

If the company wants to lowball us. They should do it without our approval.

Yeah, the old FJ is back (actually I am the same FJ as always) but unfortunately we still have the same MEC.

But seriously 727, if you can't see the irony in that post by Redeye than you are as blind as a bat.

The MEC just went off on its own on Age 60, why should be trust it to follow the majority on the next "vote"?

Do you honestly think that this is a trivial concern?
