Yea, I'm not sure if our ABXers are thinking that UPS is a bad deal and browntails don't make good coin. The ole brown/gold is far ahead of ABX/Acmi these days and is a destination airline. ABX, in its' past was also (IMO) a destination airline, that statement is not true any longer. With that said, there is a place for everyone and should find your destination at some of the ACMI carriers (specifically ABX) your life isn't bad and can be personally fruitful without beating yourself up as well.

And what prevents UPS or any other current "destination" airline turning into that?

Your contract can stagnate relative to the entire industry. See ABX and how their contract hasn't changed much since like 2018. Or Fedex, for that matter.

OMG...I'm not here to give a history lesson about the airline industry, any specific industry segment, nor a single carriers' history. It wouldn't hurt the younger crowd to learn a little bit about where their industry came from, and just as important, where it could be going in future times. Try Google, or maybe even read a copy of Flying the Line.
