CVG would be your domicile. So yes you would start and end
all flights in CVG, that said there are times for one reason or another,
the company needs you to position elsewhere. In those cases,
a commercial ticket is purchased. Also, you can jumpseat on our international
flights, to/from domicile. And we have pilots living in Central and SA who do commute
to work on us. So international jumpseats are allowed, just not positive space.

ending in CVG. And if he is required to get to CVG for his flight assignment.
United20 stated that international js are not allowed, which was incorrect.
The gateway travel question was already addressed.

Hello!
Eye-rolling newb question here about your different 76s.
Do you all have to attend formal differences training for the 200s and 300s? Also heard you have to learn three different cockpit setups - old, real old, and ancient (as in all steam, no gps/fms, plumb bob, etc.).
Thanks!

You will require training on the "classic" panel (which is a two-tube EFIS with electro-mechanical airspeed, altimeter and VSI) at some point, whether that's during initial training in the simulator or during IOE. You must maintain currency on both the classic and flat panel through either actually flying it or completing the CBT module. Classic, by the way, does not necessarily mean "ancient". At least two of our newest airframes are classic panels equipped with GPS, Pegasus FMC, ACARS and CPDLC. One of our oldest -200s has the latest and greatest LDS (Large Display System) and associated updated FMCs installed.[/size]
GPS will be ubiquitous in the fleet eventually. The -200s are getting it. The current holdup on the -300s (those that don't have it already) is getting the service bulletin approved. Not like it makes a difference in the way you navigate. GPS is just another way to update the IRUs and affects which procedures you can use. You can still cross the ocean without GPS.
Everything has FMCs. It's how the airplane was certified.

Thank you for the information.
I learned on G1000 glass and have only flown jets using advanced avionics/LCD equipped aircraft. Sure I could learn to interpret an older setup, but doing it during a challenging 121 training program might prove too difficult.

The only time that GPS has a bearing on IRU function or position is during initializiation, of one uses the GPS position to input for present position when initializing the IRU's prior to flight. Even in this case, there is no direct input to the IRU; one can take the GPS position displayed on the FMC and use that via the scratch pad as the position to give the IRU for initialization. In that case, there's still no direct GPS input to the IRU; the value is copied to the scratchpad and manually entered/pasted.
In flight, GPS does not update the IRU; only the FMC.

GPS is a sensor input (nav source) to the FMC; it has no input to the IRS/IRU. The IRU is a separate input to the FMC, and in fact only becomes the primary FMC update source when GPS, VOR, and DME input is invalid.

Day/Night Legs
The airline info page says that 70% of ABXs flights are night/ backside of the clock legs. With the increased amazon flying, will this remain the same.
Looking at flight aware it seems ABX does a decent amount of day flying.

stick to passenger if you want day flying.
and about Amazon flying, stop chasing pipe dreams.
they are following the DHL model of the “lowest bidder gets our birds”. In a few years these birds will go to ATI, ATI birds will go back to atlas, then to ABX wash rinse repeat.
Amazon doesn’t want an airline for a reason…. Cheap labor. Get a clue…

going to a cargo carrier to fly during the day? That’s cute.
