Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
That will be the fat guys with mustaches trying to sell the same snake oil that Dave did at the meeting a few weeks ago where he told us what he was going to do before the poll had even closed.
No thanks.

I saw that also and was suprised, now that all the voting is over, that the MEC still wants to "talk" about it. Maybe they're getting a bunch of email from unhappy members? Maybe they've decided to change their position and represent the majority of the membership? Maybe they've decided to paint the union offices "because it's the right thing to do?"
Whatever ... they've lost the support of this member. I've decided to become an independent contractor because I simply can't count on MY union defending My (and the majority for that matter) interests. MY UNION NO LONGER SPEAKS FOR ME!
Disappointed,
Mark

What would be the point of attending this meeting? Same party line, different spin. They voted against the overwhelming majority of their members on Age 65 legislation and are simultaneously taking a stance opposing ALPA National on the retroactivity issue. Talk about wanting it both ways! Don't need them to keep peeing down my back and telling me it's just a warm summer rain.

Take a piece of copy paper and write "Dues paying ALPA member who would be here if he thought the MEC cared what he thought". Put it in the seat you would be sitting in if you weren't doing the USA Today crossword. Maybe a sea of empty seats with pieces of paper propped up on them will convey that appropriate message to whomever is tonight's guest spinner.

new info at hub meeting
i have heard there is some new info at the hub meeting, not just age 60 stuff.
since it seems like good medical coverage is going by the wayside, DW and the MEC believe we need to get on board and just accept that we will not have good medical. why fight it.
also, since paycuts for pilots is happening throughout the majority of ALPA, FEDEX ALPA needs to get behind pay and work-rule cuts and quit our meaningless opposition.
DW is also announcing our vacation system is antiquated and a change is inevitable. "if we want to be able to deal with the company about our vacation in the next couple of weeks, we have to change our opposition in keeping the current system."
...etc.
