Default MEM MD-11 vs ANC MD-11 (Flame only)

Okay MEM MD-11 People (PC),
Why do you insist leaving the MEM approach plates (IN PLASTIC CONDOMS) in the trip book? By the way, it is against FOM policy (4.10 2nd to last paragraph) !!! Come on, how many times does and MD-11 actually go through MEM. I can understand with the MD-10, but come on, if it is not in NRT or HKG, it is in ANC. I say the condoms should be for the ANC plates, and forget about MEM.

So anyway, I figured I'd put up something that is just flamebait, and not has anything to do with age 60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy and throw lots of darts

That's kind of funny actually. I flew with a guy that insisted we pull them out and stuff them into the bottom of the LIDO bag.

Thank you Albie,
If I thought the 727 guys actually didn't leave them in the binder, I would be suprised. I am glad that you guys do leave them in, that and DSM, GFK, and the other lovely fields!!!

By the way, you have my vote for MEC Chairman...You do great work!

Actually, they come like that when you open the kit. No pilot stuff the sleeves, the company does. but if it makes you feel better, have at it.

This is true. The kits are built this way. When you open a sealed kit the MEM LIDO stuff is in the trip book in the plastic page protectors. SOP is to add and remove your departure and destination but the MEM pages are actually supposed to stay in there.

What are those places, never heard of 'em! (back of 10, to 11 FO to 11 CA )

FWIW, I always put MEM away, but last time in Europe, I must have been behind an ANC crew. ANC was in every binder for 3 legs in a row!

Maybe they have a hard time trying to figure out where the Ms' (or rather "mems" in this case) fit in the whole scheme of the alphabet.
fbh
P.S. Personally, I hope they raise the retirement age to 85.

From page 5 of the LIDO Paper KIt Insatructiolns, under "How to build a trip book,"
1. Memphis is provided in the trip book with plastic page protectors. Memphis always stays in the trip book.
