Minimum internal recs for FedEx

3, but we won't be interviewing for some time.
If our MEC has their way, we'll be hiring 150-300 folks into the left seat from our own back seats, and back flowing a bunch of folks into the right seat.
It will take a couple years until we aborb the difference. FDX corporate or professional trainers might be a good place to ride out the wait. Or SWA. Or UPS.
Good luck.

So, nothing is "true" or "will" until this mess gets sorted out........you're simply hoping.

Albie, that is a complete distortion of the truth. While it is true that these S/O will fill new Captain vacancies no current Captains are going to be bumped out of their position. A rather large number of these S/Os never had the seniority to hold wide body Captain in the first place. There are a large number of S/Os within 24 months of the new regulated age so they will not be entitled to go to training. Yes, it will have a negative impact on you, but not as bad as you make it out to be.
You've got to be kidding. Albie looked at the seniority list and came up with a number. He looked at how hiring was based on retirements and airplane growth. Most of those retirements will go away for a least a year. Then he gave a succinct answer.
What did you do? You say it's a distortion with no information. Where are your numbers? How do you figure a "large" number are within 24 months? What is your definition of a large number?
Bloviate alert.
Instead of 150-300 it could be 100-250 with the large number you speak of. (I still don't know how many will be 63 or older later this year) Worst case it will still stop hiring for new aircraft acquisition for almost a year, it depends on how fast the DC10 goes and how fast the 757 REPLACES the 727. We are already packed with too many junior folks on the 727 and DC10 as we lose those airplanes. 360 line 727 SOs bidding for 174 lines.
Look for the MOAB II to turn into the "Mad grab" for the FO seat before age 60 goes away.
