6. Implications with the over 60 capt and under 60 fo. Any ideas?

You're asuming that EVERY pilot turning age 60 will continue to fly past 60. Not true, I know many that will not, and when my time comes, I will go early, right now planning to go at 58 and 7 months - when I have 25 yrs - of course, that's still 13.5 yrs from now and there's still potential for exwives, wasted money, and stupid investments!

Default Seniority is DOH

Pretty much everyone under 59 ought to be FOR these guys leaving and not coming back.

Putting this back to the NPRM and slow leaking it will help... Should be an interesting fall.
I would rather say "pretty much everyone under 59 ought to be for" preserving EVERY aspect of SENIORITY, a system that has been the basis of our QOL for many years.

By selectively not honoring DOH, (denying retreads their chance to retread again) we undermine the very basis our ENTIRE qol is based on. Do you really want to do that? Do you really want to be looking over YOUR shoulder when you're 59?

I know it's hard to swallow this crap sandwich we've all been dealt (and the smug attitudes of Foxhunter, and Non-member Bob make it that much harder). But if we start advocating selectively denying ANY individual's right to bid any seat he can hold, we end up eating our young, and shooting ourselves in the foot.

If FredEx wants to retrain them, they will find a way to allow them to bid back up front. If George (yes, even George, or whoever has maybe "3togo") can pass the training and the check, they deserve the seat. I hate to say it, and I don't like it either. C'est la vie.

You don't always get what you want. Let's at least try to stay on the same page and try to protect what we need, in order to live with this. The hand writing has been on the wall for some time. We need to swallow hard and deal with it.

Flame on, if it helps.

Sad comment Albie.

"He said that if he gets recalled because he did the right thing for those on our seniority list than he can live with that."

If he is recalled it would not be because he thinks he did the right thing by a small percentage of our pilots. It will be because he refuses to allow the members to have a say on huge issues effecting their careers and quality of life. Putting emotion aside, his refusal to allow us a say as dues paying members is the real issue here. Wonder what the next edict will be that DW gives us no say on? Democracy obviously has no place in his rule, especially when he knows he will lose. That's hardly heroic in my book.

Heck, you may even see some nonmembers becoming members again, no inside knowlege, just a guess. I may even have to see how much I am permitted to contribute to the ALPA PAC.

Not enough to offset the many who will stop their contributions after seeing ALPA national couldn't stop a bunch of old farts in the AARP or AARD (whatever they call themselves) from getting Age 60 changed.

No easier to swallow a crap sandwich for me than for you, but no flame here. Being a bit pragmatic, I have to agree with you!

So someone told you that Dave has a sticker on his bag and you just take it as gospel??? Did you ask to see Dave's flight kit or are you going to shoot first and ask questions later?

Wally's term ends June 30th, he has not been recalled.

You're asuming that EVERY pilot turning age 60 will continue to fly past 60. Not true,
I don't believe that. We're talking about 1.5 million here. The vast majority are going to stick around, ruin their health and die earlier, all so their kids can inherit more. I hope I'm wrong but big ol' numbers like that change a man.....
