That has to do more with the company's hiring practices than anything else. 15-20 years ago, the company hired almost exclusively Alaska pilots. Even then, Lynden had a gateway basing system, but if you weren't in Alaska, you weren't likely to get hired, at least as a pilot ( FE's were a different story) That changed sometime in the 20-teens, Lynden started hiring from outside Alaska. I don't recall the reasons for the shift, but I do recall the D.O at the time commenting that they were specifically targeting pilots outside Alaska. So, the Captain's list is dominated by pilots who were hired when mostly Alaska pilots were being hired. And the FO's list is populated by pilots hired when the company was hiring from around the country, not just Alaska pilots.
