Question FDX 757 Question

Just finished reading the article on the acquisition of 757s in this issue of "Safe Skies," and was wondering if anyone had heard anything on the avionics package?? Sounds like they were deciding on a composite glass cockpit such as the A300, or 6 CRT displays much like the 777 or MD-11. I'm sure $$ will be the bottom line. Let's at least hope it's somewhat standardized. Anyone got any insight??

Thanks

It's my belief that the above picture was just one of the options being considered. The other 6-panel display model can be seen here:

It is what Boeing is putting in the 767-400 now, and is very similar to the 777. I thought the company has said that the one similar to the 777 is the winner, which would be the 767-400 design. It is also supported by Boeing and not a 3rd party which the other is.

But, alas, it's still not painted purple yet!

Does anyone know if the checklist comes up in the glass with the upgrade?

On the second linked photo, what are those three round dials/gauges close to the Capt's knee? They look vaguely familiar.....

I haven't gotten a "safe skies" since I turned off my bid packs in Jan. It's been kinda nice.

Beat me to it Lippy. Same here.

Kind of nice not having that "please burglarize my house because I'm not home" sign sitting on my front step for a week or more. Although I do miss the pretty pictures and propaganda.
