Default Growth

Seems N8 is on a growth spree. Seems to be on a positive trajectory since the son took over.

They are hiring direct entry captains, according to their site. What is it like there? Are you kept out for longer than you’re supposed to be? Or are they good about getting you
home when you’re due?
quality of life? Lots of short overnights or are there some decent ones?

The company is very good about asking before keeping pilots out longer than they should be. When it was busy, there was a lot of asking. But, things have slowed down here substantially. Multiple days rest between segments. Some pilots are even being sent home early. Q of A is typical ACMI. Tougher, when it is busy. We just had 3 days in Spain between trips. Favorites for me are Japan, Spain & Brasil.

There was supposed to be a class in March, but things have slowed down a lot. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t rescheduled or cancelled. IDK how my ACMI brethren are fairing though.

Default Hiring

Apparently training is starting up again properly in March with hiring to commence again. Upgrades happening as they are desperately short of captains. National has bought their own sim and possibly another. I hear it is to be housed at South Coast sim center in Miami.

Default Hiring Process

For those in the know:

How is the hiring process for new hires? Series of interviews? Any sim check?

I understand you are "home" based? can you live outside CONUS and they airline you to where the plane is?

Thanks for answering.
