ALPA's founders chose "Schedule with Safety" as our motto. Support the SIG/PSIT in upholding that standard-- Don't fly disputed pairings!

193 looks like it has been revised. It doesn't seem to contain any of the issues that the SIG had with it anymore. Is it still disputed?

727 Pairing 193 as published in the Bidpack was disputed.

SIG Letter:
#107, #108, #192, #193, (D) This route LCK-IND-BOS-EWR habitually runs late. After a 3:45 hub turn in IND the trip continues into the North East to BOS. The early AM passenger flight congestion has already started, holding inbound is not uncommon. The trip then has to get in the ATC cue for clearance to EWR at the height of the morning Continental Airlines recovery. Ground holds, reroutes and holding are common, on a clear day. Average delays into EWR are reaching 35 to 45 minutes, and have exceeded 1+20. In March at least 2 trips never reached EWR. Duty limits aside, this trip is onerous and fatiguing.
All we can see now is Rev 03, where the LCK-IND-BOS-EWR was broken up, with a 27:33 layover in IND vice 3:45. Why this was done is not clear, and it's also not clear whether this was the result of Rev 01, Rev 02, or Rev 03. Finally, it's not evident from Rev 03 what the schedule reflected when the trip was assigned to the pilots. The next to last sentence of the SIG note ("In March at least 2 trips never reached EWR.") seems now to be prophetic, as the first sequence of the May bid month failed to reach EWR.

IF the trip was revised prior to assignment to break up the LCK-IND-BOS-EWR sequence that is disputed, it would be acceptable to fly the trip in any "volunteer" status.

IF the trip was revised after Block-Out due to some scheduling issue (weather, maintenance, fatigue, etc.), the SIG's objection to the sequence, and thus the dispute, is reinforced.

And this is where we need the feedback to the Union about these pairings. The crew can fill in the blanks about what happened to this pairing, and why, and give the Scheduling Committee the information they need to properly advance our case.

Hey TonyC, Just wish we had pairings to dispute. Haven't seen you since we were beatin' mosquitos out of the cockpit in GDL.

I'm not sure what FO is being discussed ref DP 495. I show 2 different FOs listed on the trip pairings listed for 15, 17 and 18 May. Never heard of the guy. Who's his brother? Anybody said anything to him/them? Somebody's got to know them. Both look fairly senior for Bus FOs.

Sad to a greedy ANC Captain picking up trip 125 worth 71hrs
At least the FO was on reserve.
I didn't think the ANC guys were picking up dp's...I was wrong

Found this in the CBA's implementation plan, under "automation index":

Automation Appendix to 2006 Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement

25.BB Scheduling Improvement Group (SIG) -- Implement ability to flag trips as 'disputed' -- Target Date-Jul 07 Deadline-Oct 07

That looks to me like there will soon be no excuse, for anyone, to not know which pairings are disputed.
