Our problem is not these hypothethtical cases. Our problem is that these dirtbags pick up trips out of open time when our Union says don't. It is S-C-A-B-I-S-H behavior and ther is no excuse for it. They belong on a list with scabs and non-members.

While I agree with your sentiments, you are way to easy-going with the S word. Non-members suck, but even they are not Scabs. We have some Scabs here, left over from EAL and CAL. Idiots and A#$%^les who fly DP need to be educated and change their ways, but they are in no way, no how equated to Scabs. I don't know how long you have been here or in the airline business, but with almost 20 years in ALPA, IMHO I think you need to get your terms straight.

Default fdx727pilot-Difference between a noun and an adjective

I've been here long enough to remember 200% and the misguided men who flew their asses off for the love of company and money. I've long since gotten over that but haven't gotten over the instructors who covered for the company last year. I didn't say anybody was a scab and I know that a picket line is an entirely different ball game than a DP. But scabs go to work when their union says not to. I used the word as an adjective instead of a noun because I do see a parallel and always will. I'm just sick of hearing all of the guys flying DPs justifications. At least Balut's classmate was honest and admitted he was just concerned about himself and not the union. Now, what other class of person feels that way? What word could describe such behavior? Get ready, turn your computer off if your offended because here it comes. You guessed it, a scab. These guys are not scabs and I never said they were. But, their action is reprehensible and scab-like.

Is that when Jamie Foxx was doing his standup routine and said that he couldn't tell whether Whitney Houston was on crack, but she seemed a little "crack-ish"?

Scabby could also be used. Or as you said .....scab-like.....or simulated scab oriented self interest.....or as they say in France....Pierre' the

To the scab or scab-like person, wouldn't the type of activity in question actually be scab-alicious?

Scab-alicious it is.

BTW - I got subbed this week for some AM out-n-backs. What is the thinking on getting a DP as a SUB trip. While, theoretically, I can turn it down, with open time as empty as it is, unless I pick up a DP for my OTP makeup, which I won't do, I'm out the cash. Perhaps a chance to talk to the young SO who is so proud of flying disputed pairings. Waddya think, guys?

I don't think the SIG expects pilots to reject SUB assignments of Disputed Pairings - that would place an unfair burden on a tiny portion of the pilot population. You have another option that could be exercised, but it has its drawbacks, and I don't think the SIG would fault you for accepting the Substitution assignment.

Just as you would for a Reserve Assignment, keep a sleep log, and go to the ALPA website to complete the feedback form. Be safe. Be alert. Be aware.

He wasn't honest. He just couldn't come up with a story good enough to lie his way out of it

First....I don't know when I gored your ox. Maybe you pick up DP's and don't like the association to scabby behavior.

Secondly, I don't know why you think you could do a better job of introducing me to line flying anymore than the years of exclusively line flying I've done since I qot here.

If you have some sort of bone to pick with me PM me.
