Curious, without your instructor ratings, how did you build time?

Good luck with your apps btw.

Long and Short of it:

During college I worked for a broker ferrying aircraft. Post-degree, I got a job as a manager with a company who owned a GA airport and a/c sales dept. They wanted to start a part 61 "grass-roots" flight school with tailwheel and aerobatics as their focus so I grew and managed that for them. Which was odd not having a CFI because I never taught but I had a great Chief working for me and he was the only one that really new. I was able to get them to get me my rotorcraft commercial add-on as part of my sign on package since they wanted me in helicopter sales mainly and I knew nothing about them except they looked dangerous (got the rating so now I officially know they are dangerous). I set them up a helo tour company and flew for that on weekend, plus I did all the MX flights, repositioning flights, ferry flights etc.

It was unique, but I was behind a desk more than anything and I had a lot of responsibilities and employees and no life for 4 years.
