Lymphoma cancer and FAA medical?
Anyone have the idolunt lymphoma where you don't have symptoms and thus don't get treatment? Any problems getting a medical? I am a retirement eligible army pilot who was recently diagnosed. Weighing my options as far as treatment v. No treatment. Thanks

According to my AME, a cancer diagnosis is an immediate loss of medical. He says there are steps to re-acquire the medical, but we were speaking in the context of another type of cancer.
If you belong to AOPA you can call them and discuss it with one of their medical experts.

I had anaplastic lymphoma when I was younger, before I had started pilot training. I went through a whole barrage of treatment and started pilot training a few years later. Took about a couple of months for me to get my medical, but it was mostly because of miscommunication by the FAA (not being clear on what they wanted). In my case they wanted a history of treatment and a write up from my doctor with details of prognosis. I was cancer free at the time that I did it, so I am not sure what they will have to say in your case.
