Hey all, how bad is it if one were to leave training at a regional, to start at a different regional? No training contract, haven't gotten to the sim yet, successful SV and PV with no training issues at all. Just wanting to relocate to a different coast and have a job offer to do so. Would this, not completing a 121 training, show up later when applying to a major? I looked on airline apps for UAL and did not see a question about this on their app or addendum. Anyone have any insight?

I believe it will show up as incomplete training, since at the very least there will be a PRIA report required.
Most airlines will ask broadly worded catch-all questions about your training and employment history, and will expect you to disclose this.
As long as there was no difficulty in training, your explanation should be good enough. Geography is a significant lifestyle factor for airline pilots, so making a switch that early in your employment would not be unreasonable.
Be prepared for this question at a later major airline interview " so if we hire you and train you how do we know you won't leave for Delta in a few months?

SKW will not take people immediately after washing out from other programs. But after they gain some additional experience (121 or otherwise) they will be given fair consideration.
The skywest training program has always been more even-handed and methodical than most other regionals...if you failed (which was rare), you deserved to fail. At other regionals you could fail because your sim buddy sucked or the instructor sucked, or the examiner woke up on the wrong side of the bed. SKW occasionally purges the ranks of instructors who have poor bedside manner or can't stay on the reservation.
That's how it used to work at least. Hiring policy seems to be more liberal now...
