Default Background Checks

Hi All,

Just curious if reference checks are usually required to verify previous employment. What I mean is do I need a contact and phone number of someone at my previous places of employment to verify my character and work ethics etc.

I have letters of recommendations but all my previous companies are out of business (as usual )

Other than a logbook how can they actually verify I worked at this place or that place?

Yes, they need a contact to verify your employment. Barring that, do you have pay stubs or W2's from said employers?

Also, a previous employer isn't the same as a reference, UNLESS YOU MAKE IT SUCH.

As far as contacting a previous employer goes, they are limited to what they ask, unless you give them permission to ask more, like DAL.

A reference is different, unless you make them the SAME PERSON.

What is the difference at DAL? Curious.
Thanks.

You sign away a form that allows them to ask more than the "job title/when did they work there from when to when? and are they recommended for rehire?" Etc.

Questions about attendance, sick calls, etc.

Ok so what do I do if all my previous companies I have worked for are out of business? I have no contacts at all now?

I have 1 letter of recommendation with a company letter head? I assume that's proof as it does state dates of employments etc.

thanks
