Interval between app looks
Hello,
I recently busted the United Airlines Hogan assessment.
Unsurprisingly, I am not happy about. I've heard that once you get a look by a major airline's HR they won't revisit it for about a year. Rather disheartening for a guy about to retire from the military (4,800 hours, C-130, standard career credentials, ATP, 737 type).
Is it that arbitrary for a review interval for the airlines?
Thanks,
Cy

Yes, one year is standard. It's not arbitrary.

So as stupid as the HPI is, and as much as your answers might NOT change in a year since people's personalities don't change that quickly, just be glad you'll get another shot.
And keep in mind, you have the 737 type. It wasn't uncommon for some guys to interview at SW 3 FRIGGIN TIME before getting the nod.
Unless something has changed, at DAL if you aren't successful on day 1, it's a 6 month wait and not a year.

Cy,
After one year, you will be given the chance to take the Hogan Assessment test again. If you fail it again, you are done with United forever. If you pass the Hogan and fail the interview, you are done with United forever. Hopefully this policy will change soon.
As for Delta, the process is a little different. You can fail a computer test on Day 1 and come back to interview in 6 months. For the HR side on Day 1, there are three different ranges for your HR score. One range is you scored high enough and are given a conditional job offer (CJO). Second range is you scored well, but not high enough to get the CJO (6 month wait for second interview). Third range is you scored too low and can never come back.
I've seen plenty of great guys screw up the Hogan test the first time and be successful the second time. If you have a question about any airline process please send me an email or PM.
